Bull Street is the story of Richard Blum, a naïve young Wall Streeter who gives a crooked billionaire the chance for redemption as they team up to bring down an insider trading ring within Blum's prestigious firm. The author, David Lender, has been referred to as the John Grisham of Wall Street, which is a fairly apt comparison, though not in the most complimentary sense, at least in my mind. Bull Street did indeed remind me of Grisham's work, especially The Firm, but only in the sense of poor imitation. Lender's writing is not nearly as good as Grisham's and his story, plot and character development not nearly as interesting. I found Bull Street too simple and predictable. Might be worth reading on vacation.
